Living Our Mission

At Cincinnati Church of the Brethren, we celebrate a faith that thinks, loves, and serves. We don’t ask you to check your brain at the door. We welcome honest questions, deep conversations, and the call to action that faith brings.

A Thinking Faith

We believe faith should be explored, questioned, and engaged with reason. Our community includes doctors, teachers, social workers, business owners, students, and more—each bringing their unique perspective to our shared journey.

A Loving Faith

God calls us to love, not hate. Faith is about building relationships—with God and with each other. Through worship, prayer, and community, we grow deeper in our trust in Christ and in our love for the world around us.

A Serving Faith

Faith in action means serving through The People’s Pantry for essentials, the Community Closet for clothing, First Step Home for women in recovery, Found House for families in crisis, and the Children’s Reading Program at Frederick Douglass School.

Our Story

In 2008, we left our suburban home to move into the heart of Cincinnati, seeking to live out our faith in Walnut Hills. We engage with issues of poverty, violence, race, and gentrification, always striving to follow Christ’s example of peace, justice, and love. We believe God’s love is for everyone, and we welcome all to worship and serve with us.
